Teams to target: Tottenham, Liverpool
Luton Town vs. Tottenham
With Angeball in full swing, you will need at least a couple of Tottenham assets for GW8 ahead of their trip to Luton Town.
Tottenham are second in the Premier League following an excellent start to the season and they perhaps have the plumb fixture this round.
Son Heung-Min and James Maddison are playing through the pain barrier at the moment; however with Spurs having just one game a week with no European football, you’d expect both to continue.
Given the minor doubt with them and injuries to both Brennan Johnson and Manor Solomon, it could be worth a risk on Richarlison, with the Brazilian recording three returns in his last three games.
Pedro Porro is proving to be worth the extra money ahead of Destiny Udogie but if you are strapped for cash on a FH / WC, then the downgrade is the option.
Luton have four points in their last three matches, however they are comfortably one of the worst sides in the division and an away win is perhaps the gimme of the week.
Brighton vs. Liverpool
Liverpool are fourth in the Premier League despite perhaps the hardest fixture list thus far this season.
They were incredibly hard done by in defeat at Tottenham last weekend, with Luis Diaz’s incorrectly disallowed goal the talking point of the week.
Once again they’ve another difficult game here; however Brighton are yet to keep a clean sheet this season and shipped six at Aston Villa last time out.
Pervis Estupinan is injured, meaning Mohamed Salah will likely face Tariq Lamptey out of position and the FPL king will be one of the most purchased players for WC’ers this week.
With Diogo Jota banned and Cody Gakpo injured, the double up with Darwin Nunez could be worth it for those willing to risk going light on Arsenal and Manchester City options this week.
Opposition to target: Sheffield United, Bournemouth
Fulham vs. Sheffield United
Sheffield United’s terrible start shows no sign of improving after they were easily beaten at West Ham United last time out.
10 goals conceded in their last two games and the Blades have scored just five goals in seven games, creating higher than 1xG in a game just once this season.
Fulham haven’t been great either this campaign, but have had a really difficult start, having already faced the two top sides form last year.
A home clean sheet looks a shoe-in here and Bernd Leno will be popular among WC’ers this week.
Offensively they are limited Fulham options with Raul Jimenez and Vinicius scoring just once between them this campaign.
Everton vs. Bournemouth
Granted they’ve had a difficult fixture list, but a return of just three points from seven games is far from an ideal start for Bournemouth.
Everton have been a little unlucky to have just one more point and will be confident of securing a result against a fellow relegation candidate here.
Everton are seventh for xG created this season, but no side has under performed it more than Everton, with 8.40 goals less than they should have.
Their luck has to turn soon and Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored in his last two games and is fully fit according to Sean Dyche and on a FH he could be worth a little punt.
Other options
Burnley vs. Chelsea
Despite their poor start to the campaign, only Manchester City have conceded fewer goals than Chelsea this season.
In their last five games they conceded just twice and Levi Colwill has the most points for the Blues in that period.
Colwill returned an assist and a clean sheet in the win at Fulham in GW7. On a FH I’d be looking to punt on the England defender.
GW8 Dream Team: Leno; Porro, Colwill, Ream; Son (C), Maddison, Salah; Calvert-Lewin, Nunez, Haaland
